Another beautiful morning for a family walk this morning - we walked right around the esplanade at Tannum Sands to Boyne Point. The 2.5km pathway stretches along the coastline and includes boardwalks winding around the hills. The kids rode their bikes and took in the sights while Craig and I picked up the pace in a speed walk. When we reached Boyne point Harvey and Annabelle took to the beach for a spot of spontaneous dancing. It's pretty standard now to see these kids breaking into dance wherever they are.

When we got back to the park the kids were keen for a swim. Still not warm enough for Craig and I, we sat, had a coffee and cooled our legs.

After cooling off (a little too much!) the kids begged to hire a pedal cart. Negotiations began and we agreed provided the kids paid for their own carts with their pocket money. They got quite a deal when the park offered them to get 2 for the price of 1. Harvey rode his cart for the entire 30min without stopping. Those legs were moving!

Craig and I took the opportunity to head out to lunch while Nanna and Grandad looked after the kids. We headed to a winery we'd heard about and knew they did a good meal. Gecko Valley winery was just outside Gladstone and sitting on a mountain, sprinkled with rose gardens and water features. They have a couple of nice verdelho's and a really delicious chardonnay. Craig tried the reds and we bought one of each to take home. Locally brewed beers are also sold here so Craig had a beer with his open lamb burger for lunch, I had a glass of Chardonnay and cheese platter. Just what we were looking for!

In no rush to return to the kids, we took a drive around Gladstone as they have a festival in the marina at the moment. We checked out the Auckland Hill lookout and drove the local streets before heading home.

We finished the day with dinner at the Tannum Sands Surf Club. The most delicious meal we've had all holiday and a gorgeous walk to dinner and home.

Tomorrow is our last day of holidays before our 6hr drive home. I'm sad to see our adventures end, but I am looking forward to being home!
