Our biggest drive yet. We left at 9am this morning and arrived at 4:30pm today. Although it was a long day, it wasn't boring at all! First we had a delightful morning coffee and chat with our host at the Evening Star Caravan Park. Craig (the owner) has an incredibly rich and colourful history himself and Craig (my husband) and I were still reeling after leaving this morning.

The kids took the camera and got some happy snaps around the property.

Then we drove. and drove. and drove. past petrol stations, overtaking road trains, stopping for cattle to cross the road (using the long paddock as we learnt at our sale yard tour yesterday);

stopping to eat (stretch our legs and do some star jumps) and go to the toilet. Then we drove. And drove. We stopped to check out the black stump (or the memorial of it) at Blackall.

Then we drove. And drove. Until we reached Longreach.

It is a long reach. We've got a great site in a lovely park and were overwhelmed at the sight of the QANTAS museum on our way into town.

Tomorrow will be another busy day. Hopefully we learn some trick to deal with the flies. Harvey thinks they have it in for him.
