Great day seeing the sights:

Longreach School of Distance Education - what an incredible example of the value of education for all children. These teachers reach their students through digital technology and create a community for their isolated students. Annabelle and I have a great appreciation for our State School.

Machinery Mile -

Me: Craig what can I put in the blog about this? you're the one who took Harvey.

Craig: It's just a mile of random old machinery.

Me: So what did Harvey think of it?

Craig: he liked the white tractor the best and walked the whole mile without whinging.

QANTAS founders museum. Underwhelming. Worth a visit but not as epic as we expected. The variety of history here feels somewhat disconnected. Is it about the planes? is it the history of aerospace engineering? is it about connecting rural communities to their urban capitals? it could be any of these. We enjoyed our Jet Tour and I specifically loved seeing inside an old Boeing 707 from 1984. Perhaps because the Jackson 5 toured on this plane, but maybe because of the incredibly luxurious interior for its time. Time out with Craig was also a highlight, so thanks to the Grandparents for taking the kids so we could tour the smelly, dirty and interesting old planes.

Back to the caravan park to catch up with Uncle John and Aunty Michelle. Can you believe we ran into Bill's brother out here in Longreach?? Those Northsiders will go out of their way to avoid crossing the gateway.

Stockmans Hall of Fame tomorrow and maybe a sleep in? Craig? Can I sleep in? Parkrun on Saturday!
